This article doesn’t even cover supplemental contracts, which most teachers have to take because they are co-curricular & required for their regular gig, they are pressured by an administrator to fill the vacancy or they simply need the extra money.
This study also neglects to mention the constant expense and time-suck of constant post-grad classes to renew licenses, etc. That’s what June, July & August are for: sleeping (for the first time in months), wine and grad school.
