Variegated

Welcome.

I’m glad you’re here.

I never imagined I would have, let alone need, my own website. I haven’t built anything on the internet since I put fun backgrounds on my MySpace page (RIP, Tom). But necessity is the mother of invention, and the internet has become more and more the way we connect.

Being connected has always been important to me. My life being what it is, I have people I love who live all over, who I haven’t seen in years, who only know me from a certain time, place, or activity. If my life was a Venn diagram, it feels like there are a lot of circles that never overlap.

This feeling, this perception, that these circles don’t overlap is a lie, I think. If you’re here, right now, that’s a connection.

I’ve blogged before, and had presences on other sites (other than MySpace, TYVM), but always felt pulled at odds. This year, it seemed imperative to shore things up. Lo and behold, there wasn’t much demand for my name as a domain… and here we are.

I hope this space feels more cohesive, both to you and me. This site will connect the parts of me that felt necessary to compartmentalize in the past. There’s a lot inside this head of mine, waiting in line to get out.

What can you expect here?

  • Info on my handmade items
  • Information about my fiber arts teaching
  • Design information & details
  • Musings on life, teaching, fiber arts, music, marriage, and more

As we enter this final chapter of an unimaginable year, I hope this brings me a renewed sense of connection to the people I love, the friends I haven’t met yet, and to the making I do, that expresses who I am.

Happy December and to all a good night.
