This is the third in my series of posts (and videos) about the notions and tools I keep on hand for different fiber crafts!
My rigid heddle weaving tools occupy 2 places: a bag for warping and a bag for weaving. Read on to learn what I keep in each (or click to watch the video below for a bit more in-depth explanations)!
Warping tools:
- lockable, metal tape measure (hardware store style)
- scissors (I prefer full length shears for warping and cutting fabric off of the loom)
- threading/sleying hook
- smooth, light color waste yarn (weight to match the yarn you’re weaving with)
- hair pick
- WPI tool
- clamps & warping pegs
Weaving tools:
- dressmakers tape
- gauge square
- embroidery scissors
- yarn needle
- numbered markers on lightbulb pins (mine are from Katrinkles)
What do you need on hand to keep your weaving on track? Let me know in the comments!
