This is the second in my series of posts (and videos) about the notions and tools I keep on hand for different fiber crafts!
Being able to spin out and about can be a joy – as long as you don’t get sidelined by a technical difficulty. Today, I’m going to show you what I carry in my spinning bag to ensure my spinning in public is as fun as it can be (also, there’s a video with fuller explanations on my channel on YouTube).
I’m predominantly a wheel spinner, and that requires some tools.
Spinning bag contents:
- ziploc bag with needle-nose oil applicator and blue shop towel*
- multi-tool with bits to match the hardware on your wheel*
- pipe cleaner or straw brush
- spare manufacturer’s bobbin OR storage bobbin
- a small ball of leader yarn
- orifice hook*
*Mandatory!
Do you have a spinning tool bag? What do you think of my recommendations? Let me know!
I’d probably bring my knitting notions bag along, as it would have snips, lotion, nail file, etc. If you use a spinning card/angle twist card, that should come along, too.
